Central Produce is a family run fruit & veg company based in Central Scotland. 

Founder, Michael McDowall started worked in the Glasgow Fruit Market in 1983. Having worked hard over the years in various roles, gaining a lot of knowledge of the products and what customers want. In 2008, with 30 years experience under his belt he decided to venture out on his own with Central Produce Ltd.

Michael began to build what he believed to be what chefs were looking for.  A voice at the end of the phone for any questions or queries and produce which was chosen for quality rather than price. This created a winning formula - top quality produce at competitive prices.

It was family run from the start with Michael's wife, Angela, managing the admin side of the business. With their son, Andrew, leaving school he started to learn the trade too. Michael and Angela have since retired, leaving Andrew and his team of fantastic pickers and drivers to run the company. Andrew continues with the same ethos which has turned Central Produce into a well know name within the catering industry in Central Scotland.

Alongside providing fresh produce for restaurants and local businesses, Central Produce works with food banks, community projects and charities, helping to ensure fresh produce and a healthy lifestyle is accessible for all.

 

As a response to COVID-19, Andrew and team have launched fruit & veg boxes for local delivery, with the hope to develop and continue this endeavour into the future - Providing restaurant quality produce for local people, delivered to fit in with busy, modern lifestyles.
